Index definition
Each Teraline rental index measures the price, in US dollars per GPU per hour, of renting a specified GPU model in a defined region for a standard contract term.
Coverage spans Asia and the Gulf. Launch markets include Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and Japan in Asia, and the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar in the Gulf.
Data sources and eligibility
Eligible inputs are executed lease contracts, financing transactions, on-chain trades and verified operator quotes. Executed transactions carry more weight than quotes.
Each contributor signs a data agreement. Inputs must name GPU model, configuration, region, term and price.
Cleaning and outliers
Inputs outside a robust band around the trailing median are flagged and reviewed. Duplicate and related-party inputs are removed before calculation.
Calculation
The index is a volume- and recency-weighted median of eligible inputs over a rolling window. Exact parameters are published with each methodology version.
To reduce front-running, update timing and windows are designed for low predictability and tested before launch.
Specification normalisation
Prices are normalised to a reference configuration (interconnect, memory, networking, support level) using published adjustment factors.
Rebalancing and revisions
Methodology changes follow a public consultation and notice period. All revisions are logged with version numbers.
Gaps and fallbacks
If eligible inputs fall below a minimum threshold, the index carries forward the last value and flags it as delayed. Extended gaps trigger a documented fallback.
